That's identical to my first Fizzie.

Probably worth more than her career now!

What career, pouting ?? Great machines the fizzy, those were the days when you went from 50cc to a 250 that'd do a ton plus !

You must be the other side of 50.

We went from 50 to 100, 'coz the insurance went mental above 100cc. In those days they were grouped, upto 100, 100-225,225-350 and onwards to a thou+.

That's why 250s disappeared when the learner 125 regs came in. Why bother with a 250, when you could insure an RD350LC for the same money?

They were the most common colour round our way at that time 1975

I had the slower but more reliable SS "no jokes please" 50 in Gold

Me too, though I went to cheap 125 (one of these):-

then to one of the bin-cheap GT250's with a sidewinder on it.

No one admits to owning an SS. Did you Grandad leave it to you?

A C50 was marginally cooler.

They went better than the fizzies if you put a C70 top end on though

54. I was lucky living in the sticks so I bought a TS185 Suzuki trail bike instead of a moped. Brand new 400 with a full face helmet, road tax less than a tenner but I couldn't insure it until I was 17 ! Full tank of fuel about a quid & insurance less than 50. Went all over on it & never got a tug off the boys in blue.
I don't know how the kids afford it now, I'm glad I did my bike test back then!
