What is happening in England is what happened with Scotland many years ago but this is a much bigger scale now. There are too many mediocre foreign player in the league now due to the prices home clubs charge for mediocre English players. Scotland found this to our detriment 15 years ago and we have not really recovered. With the money in the league now it will only get worse unless teams invest big at grass roots level. I don't mean academies either, I mean below that level as you still need talent to put in there. The other issue we have up here is free football parks are all but gone and houses are on them now.

It's the same ....short termism attitude that pervades many walks of British life.
We need some New Leadership across the board to get the job done!!

What to do when your team tanks?
Blame the Team.
Blame the Manager.
Blame the Organisation.
Blame anyone else.....
10% of Iceland went to the Euros. The rest ALL watched at home. The team are mostly amateurs but they are fiercely determined people who are unafraid of hard work. Iceland has no tradition of serious football, no big clubs and they don't waste their energy playing weekly set piece matches with overpaid clotheshorses so the "fans" can barrack, jeer, get pissed up and scrap like rats in a bucket.
Nation of fishermen? Nah - Viking reboot! I don't expect that they'll progress much further against the remaining teams but I wish them all the luck there is.
