dvd to ipod

Just a quick question really,
How?
Well OK a bit more specific, any idea of the best software for doing the above ( cheap and easy would be good, free and Cornish proof would be better )

I don't think its that straightforward to 'rip' a DVD. First off, its illegal so any software is not going to be that easy to find.

what I'm trying to do is put onto my ipod video some of my own dvd's, just as my sons have done for me with my own cd's, surely thats not illegal, is it?
I've seen several programmes out there that do this but typically about the £30 mark, is there a shareware programme out there for free?

Kernow,

Try this place. Works for me.

http://www.videora.com/en-us/Converter/iPod/

I've tried others but this seems to be the best. I've not done a full film from DVD but I've done loads of little film clips from this site and converted my own DVDs. So it does work.

It has a couple of little niggles that I've found mainly length of film names and characters used.

Regards Nick R.

DVDshrink is also a very useful utility - use it in conjunction with Videora.

Kernow,

If your son wants a lesson on the Ipod I can get my son to speak to him, or E Mail him some instructions.

He's away skiing at the moment but will be back next week.
