you don't have to use the mount they provide for the GoPro, I have mine in it's water proof housing

They are quite robust, I've crashed mine a few times! And apart from having the change the props, it's been fine

Also you'll find a lot of pilot error, these things are easy to fly but it's silly stuff like not waiting long enough for the GPS home lock.
Or in my case pushing it to far on the battery.....lol

I do a recalibration after a stuff but it's never been out.
A lot of people who have problems with "flyaways" aren't installing the default configuration parameters after a firmware upgrade.

I do have an old Gopro on my black one, I don't use a case as hope the arms will protect it in a crash, works really well but you do see the props in the video, it's made for video flying and having fun so not really a problem, I've not fitted my gimbal to the other one as I don't have a Gopro3 yet as can;t decide to get an older version or the latest.

Like you say, they are pretty tough, I hit a tree and it fell 30 feet with no damage, I expect where I was flying and the weather contributed to a poor GPS signal as I've never had an issue since.

It does amaze me the number of people who crash them and it's never their fault....

I can honestly say that all my miss haps are operator error to some extent

Here's one of My favourite Phantom video's.......Sorry, but they're not RIB's

Course it wasn't my fault!! I do have the remains of a tricopter that I flipped and had no idea which way up it was though.

This is a Gopro mounted on the wing of an old glider, not quite in the same league as your video though, those sorts of views are rare at East Head this time of year, well, those views are rare at East Head period!
