richard - link didn't work for me. If you follow this one:

http://search.bbc.co.uk/cgi-bin/sear...=all&edition=d

and click first "hit" it should work. I think we should send gARf over to tell Gina what we think about censoring!

Of course if mumsnet starts censoring the posts the cornish members will just registed the domain ConrwallHatesGinaFord.com and their own forum!

It seems that they have been overwhelmed by the usual heavy handed lawyer blather. http://www.mumsnet.com/lw/state.html

FWIW I don't think much of Gina Ford's "Contented Little Baby" methods, and I'm not surprised that people have bad things to say. The people who seem to be most negative are those who have tried it and found it didn't work for them.

The system seems to work for some people though (as will almost any system) and her followers tend to be very pasionate about it, almost religious. Even her web site described itself as "The ContentedBaby.com site is a community site for Gina Ford followers" . . .

I don't know what the allegedly libellous comments were, and due to the intimidation of mumsnet.com I can't read them for myself. I suspect that Gina Ford needs to get over herself.

John

John,

I think you missed the lawyers letter which cites the three latest complaints: http://www.mumsnet.com/lw/fa_dsc1.pdf

I was peeing myself laughing. She must be easily upset. Codprawn i would get on the phone to your lawyer - you should be able to make a fortune!

I'm not a big fan of Gina either - in fact if she wasn't making so much money out of this I would say she is barking mad! I can't get over the irony that she has no children herself!

Anyway I hope it doesn't ruin the Mumsnet site or make other sites jumpy about content.

Neil

PS If Ms Ford's legal team wish to take action against me for suggesting she is barking mad - please PM me so I can pass on the correct address for the summons!

You're right, I had. Good to see that the tradition of posting idiotic lawyer's letters is still going strong!

My opinion of Gina Ford has just dropped by a further couple of points . . .

Hope nothing comes of this we’re living in a nanny state as it is, if something like this is found to be unlawful just think of the implications of sites like ribnet there could be a lot of shaven headed no necks going about waving lots of paper

Just seen a picture of her on BBC website, she isnt the rubenesque brunette I was thinking of, another fantasy saved!

Legal action prevents me from making any comparisons to an animatronic character from the Jim Henson stable.

I dare say her legal eagles will find there way here soon enough. With one "victory" under their belt I would expect them to be trawling the internet sniffing out any more dissent.

Looking at Gina Ford's web site, the FAQ seems to be very defensive. Some may think that the court threats are all about money, and protecting future book sales, but maybe the legal action was purely because she felt that she was being misunderstood and misrepresented.

A lot of similarities come to mind ( without prejudice)
- John Kennet, well known Rib expert..... without a boat..
- Codprawn , well known Rib and nautical expert... for some
considerable time .. without a boat..

and of course the one and only (******)-----expert on child upbringing---- without a child.... and of course the latest one

- a deputy PM with an empty portfolio . The list goes on and on...

If I remember correctly, not only does John have a boat, but it's an inflatable one as well. It's just not very rigid!
