Flanker, Flanker, where 4 art thou,

Been on Pete's boat today at LBS (thought it was a Shakespeare)and after looking at the RIB offerings he might not be so daft after all. Lots of flashy sports ribs with no thought to practicality at all. Jockey consoles too low for comfortable wave bashing, transoms too low, poor finish on a lot of boats, flimsy fixtures and fittings, bench seats in abundance, and I'm ashamed to admit, the most laughable boat was an Avon. Double bench seats at the back with a card table in between. I ask you. If you compare the boats in the fast fisher bracket i.e. Arvor, Warrior, Jeanneau, etc you seem to get a lot more for your wedge. Why?

As far as I am aware, Flanker isn't interested any more.

Pete has sent me a plaintive email saying he is still interested but has no access to state his case. He says his psychiatrist has said he's better now after the frontal lobotomy and please can he come back as it will help his recovery.

If he's that interested then presumably he can email JK (john@rib.net) as well as you David?

Good point. The lobotomy has probably interfered with his thought processes.

Yeah, but he's even getting "in" by proxy and giving us a giggle. But I don't think he can get back in with out speaking nicely to JK. I'm not sure why he was banned - was it for the rather disrespectful post (to Alan Priddy) that he tried to wriggle out of?

GUYS!!!

Flanker tried to help.
I could have posted his email pretending is mine, without saying anything about him sending it to me or cars or anything else. However, I thought it would have been unfair not to show to people in the Forum that Flanker still has a jenuine interest about the forum and the people around it.
He was expressing a concerne that his car battery was frosen up and he wanted other people to know what happened to him so that they avoid any mishaps with their boat batteries or car batteries in that metter.
Also I believe that is COMPLETELY unfair to make comments about someone who is not present and cannot reply.
I also think that the majority of the regulars in here want Flanker back.
I still don't understand why he was banned. There are other NEW members in this forum that DESERVE to get the boot and they are still here.
Any way this is a matter of JK to consider and short out.
This is a good forum and jenuine well intending members like Flanker are needed!!

Manos, it's quite funny that strange things happen to people like Flanker. (like the rabid dog in Dracula's castle). We have a guy at work similar to Mr Burns, and if it can go wrong, it will happen to him. Incidentally, he's also called Pete. (This isn't an anti-Pete thing, Pete7!).
The battery thing is peculiar, as my car lives outside, and has not had any such problem. We also keep a boat on a mooring in Devon (all winter), and haven't have any such problems as described - (good thing, as it needs the batteries for the auto bilge pumps). I guess that somehow the acid in Flanker's car battery separated from the water (perhaps from a long period of idle, or from addition of distilled water without subsequent use) and so was able to freeze. As correctly stated, acid shouldn't freeze until minus very chilly indeed. However, lead acid batteries need to be used to remain efficient. I guess that lack of use is the key here.

Anyway, we've gone a bit off subject here - I apologise to anyone reading this - most of this refers to stuff in another post.

Pepper

May be Flanker is a 'little bit' unlucky??

Any way as you say we have veared off the subject. I think the mishap with the battery is quite interesting and it may very well happen to any boat battery (in very rare occasions) if is standing still for long. So is good to have the info.

Crikey - have you lot not got better things to do than worry about a chap being suspended from a forum who is consistently rude, obnoxious and is intent on upsetting people. I rest my case!!

Is all good fun and may be is the way Flanker writes things. Is very difficult to say what you want sometime when you write and more difficult to try to be polite.
May be you don't mean it that way and because you miss the body language is gets out differently and offends people. Possibly??
