Dash cams

After having a few near misses recently due to stupid people on roundabouts I'm think of getting a dash cam. And after watching car crash Britian tonight!

Does anyone have any recommendations? Or any to steer clear of?

Dashcam app for your smartphone. Mine was free- called Dailyroads Voyager.

I use a 2 Chanel blackvue so a 2nd cam for blind spot in my truck

I've got one of these DOD430W I was hit by an uninsured/untaxed/unlicensed driver who subsequently drove off. The case is in court on April 8th, the cops said it was the best, clearest footage they had seen. The stills captures clearly show the driver who initially claimed that she wasn't driving & that the car had been stolen. As soon as she saw the footage she coughed.

Well .. whatever it is ...theres a few cylists that could do with a dose of it to hide the smell of 'brown' spandex when under my passenger mirror

Brainwave....

I can put a adhesive mount behind my rear view mirror and have my go pro there! I have a long enough charge cable I can run through the dashboard and up into the headlining so it comes out by the rear view mirror. And just put it in the glove box when I'm not driving

The thing about a good dash cam is though, that you forget all about it, until you need it. They capture footage and overwrite it so you dont need to keep emptying your data card. Also .. mine has shock sensors in it that trigger a 'no overwrite' setting that guarantees the protection of most likely sensitive data. Never had a go pro so dont know the way they can be used , but the a good dash cam will be 'always on' and capture just that moment when you really need it, without having to remember to turn it on ?

Yup! and a good 'un will record speed, time, GPS position etc.

Following a 'near miss' on Saturday and after checking out Pikey's link I've just bought one of these bad boys which is apparently the upgraded version of the DOD430W that's no longer stocked. Bring it on motherf.....

Looking for a recommend for a D-cam for the F-in-Law. Simple to use and robust would be good. Cheers
