Well you can discount the Mustang as I believe that was built to licence by Packard. Am I right?

at last someone sadder!

they all had a version with rolls Royce merlin, even the p40 , but as you correctly point out the p51 mustang and p40 tomahawk's Rolls Royce's Merlin's were built under licence by Packard. but that is picky!

we need to get out more!

How about the me109s that were fitted with merlins for the Spanish civil war? It's just odd seeing/hearing one...

Fantastic news that a mosquito is back in the sky. IMHO, one of the most beautifully proportioned planes ever designed.
