I do likewise, but am now on the lookout for a phone that it inherently robust, I used to have a small w/proof Nokia but the screen died. Any suggestions for something that is cheap and still available?

Nokia 5210- a few on Ebay and cases/batteries still available-splashproof but don't dunk it!
Nokia 3220-my old one lasted 3 years of serious abuse and it only got upgraded a few weeks ago. Still works, Liz is using it now because she didn't want the flashy one I got on Ebay after her 5210 got totally submerged a few weeks ago.Cost 6 to get it looking like new.

I've just got a Samsung SGHM110 which is sort of waterproof, sort of shockproof and sort of cheap. Don't like the user interface but useful to have something that doesn't go phut when you drop it in a puddle, I think when I have had it for long enough to justify a new phone it will be relegated to ribbing as its ideal for that, being a candy bar style it will also pop in an Aquapac for complete protection

See here for what is available http://www.mphone.co.uk/rugged_tough_phone.html

Try the JCB phone - the ringer is well loud and they seem to be as tough as anything out there! Got one for Kitten and it scares the crap out of me when it rings in our little office!
