Caterham 7

I was just wondering if there were any other Caterham 7 owners in the rib community?

I suppose there are some parallels between the two!

-You get soaked when it rains, and can experience the wind in your hair and the needles of rain on your face.

-Both end up getting trailered home

-Both you have to assemble yourself

-Both have an appetite for unleaded

And a kill cord would be a definite advantage on a 7

I had a 7 a while ago for about 6 months - mate left it with me whilst he was in Saudi - had to keep the battery charged if you know what I mean!!!

Love them - awesome things - only thing is I find the pedals rather cramped with my size 11s. Never tried one with the hood up though!!!

They feel a bit scary in traffic though - not many cars you can touch the ground just by putting your hand out of the window!!!

It was a while ago now but I know it was a Ford so I assume it was the 1700x X flow - had 2 webers on it and sounded great.

On the Black Mountains road it has to be the fastest car I have ever driven - nice and nimble - mates Ferrari just a bit too wide!!!

And for people who don't know the road it is amazing - been on Top gear several times - most places you can use the full width of the road - some nasty drops though!!!

I built 2 Westfields - both with CVH engines - the second was a SEI with 2 X double barrelled 40's on - went well enough!

Think the Westies have a tad more room in them - should have built a Seight - supposed to be well scary!!!

- however they wern't at the design stage when I built both of mine!

If you have a look you will find they do, or at least did both an SE which is similar in dimensions to the original, and therefore the Caterham, and an SEI which is wider - I built one of each.

at school for a project. (At least that's what the English master, whose car it was, told us

)

When the Caterham 7 chaps go for a blast, they 'go for a blat'. Is there a RIB equivalent term?

If not, can I suggest 'go for a splat'?
