Cartier Must de 21.

I wish to sell my wifes watch (see attached) however, having never been on ebay, do you recommend selling such an item on this site ? It cost me £1200 back in 2000 and continues to retail at the same price today. It's fully serviced, has all documentaion, receipts and service history since new (jesus it sounds like a car).

Comments welcome - including buyers @ £500

Does she know you are selling it?
E bay is OK. I have sold items on it and purchased a few on it including an ICOM VHF. I would happily use it again.
Just watch out for e bayers who have no or negative feedback. They are best avoided if possible or ask them to e mail you directly first before they bid for the item.
Pay Pal is a good way of ensuring that you get the momey but they do take a commision.

Hmm, I wonder what you'll use the money for, MeMe. 50 bottle of Baileys? Reupholstering the waterborne deckchair, perhaps? A ferret of your own? Or maybe a deposit on a Medline 2? Or even a Medline 3 (saw it at LBS - will post a piccie of it soon)?

BTW, are you aware of the taster/trial day for the Medline 3? post here or PM me if you want more details.

ohhh, interesting...

thanks for the advise David, I'll have a look at ebay tomorrow. Lou' the £$£$ is already spoken for but thanks for reminding me that my Med I is only a Med I and not a II or even a III. The fact that it looks like a deck chair doesn't help either !

If you have any piccs I'd love to drool over them. JohnFirth is going to the LBS this Sat and I've asked him to take a few pics if his digi ids working ! If you have any please post em'.

I was unaware of an demo day and would love to go on one, however I'm the sort that only looks in Porsche sales rooms / Medline II sales rooms when I can actually afford to buy otherwise I just depress the hell out of myself.

Catch you soon, nice chating to you....

MeMe.

Jono you're so...........

kind. Well, although I'm not exactly rolling in it I think I'll manage my Warren site fees this year !

Manos, thanks for the advice. To be honest I can't really be arsed with all the ebay messing, I'll just move it on to someone I know.

p.s

donations are of course welcome......

Says the man who bought his wife a £1,200 watch! I have little doubt, however, that he bought it in a Moscow street market for 25 roubles together with a fake Faberge egg and probably got a couple of matrioshka dolls thrown in with the deal, which he's since given to his daughter, Amelia, telling her he bought them for £500 each and which will undoubtedly appear for sale on Ribnet at some future date.
