Car Insurance - ex Company Car Driver

I have handed back my company car and am going it alone. I have not had insurance for over 10 years, so do not have any 'No Claims' history to provide an insurance company. I know there are insurance companies out their who take company car history in to account. Anyone had good expereience on this front and can make a recommendations?

I have a clean license and have no claims or accidents.

Cheers

A good insurance company will always take your last 10 years into account

Be aware if you ue a comparison website and you've got long periods of company car ownership that it's a very good idea to actually ring the company you're going to take the policy out with to clarify it all and make sure it's OK'd.

I recently had some issues insuring a car for someone who'd had 2 years of company car use.The company the details were sent to managed to completely misinterpret the data they were sent and ended up doubling the quote.

Needless to say it wasn't taken out, but it could have caused really big problems if I'd clicked 'buy now' before speaking to them.

Hi Buff

You dont have any 'Scotland The What?' interests do you ? with a name like that

What was your accident history like ? are you suggesting it might be worth starting afresh ?

I had the same issue; get the past employer to put a letter together stating the facts...at the time all insurance co's accepted this as proof of NCB,that was then though...a long time ago, things might have changed .
