Camping close to Neyland

I'm thinking of taking the RIB over to Neyland to explore the Pembrokeshire coast for a long weekend in the Spring. Would prefer to keep the boat on the water, so will probably book a couple of nights on a pontoon at Neyland Yacht Haven.

Can anyone recommend a good campsite in the area, as close as possible to Neyland?

I have done a bit of searching on the web and cannot find anything. Any advice would be much appreciated as I have not stayed in the area before.

Thanks.

Hiya Trickdog

There is a Camping and Caravan Site near the Rosebush Roundabout overlooking Neyland . ( At least there always has been one there ! ).
Another alternative might be Lawrenny just up the river ( used to have petrol , but restricted by tide ).

Otherwise there is the Windmill Site , just south of Pembroke , or Freshwater East ( Caravan Club ) , both within travelling distance but wrong side of Bridge !

Tides are ok in Lawrenny, but there's no camping in the Yacht Station. There is a youth hostel in the village though.

Dhd.....I didn't mean that access was tide-limited

but refuelling certainly is , unless you want to lump the stuff by hand

Yep - the fuel pump is on the quayside, and this does dry out. AFAIK Lawrenny is the only place on the MH Waterway which sells petrol. There are petrol filling stations (cheaper) within half a mile of the slipway/pontoon at Pembroke Dock though, if you fancy lugging cans around.

Thanks for the replies!

The camping and caravan site near the Rosebush Roundabout sounds ideal, if it overlooks Neyland. Think I will check that out.

And thanks for the tip about fuel at Lawrenny... That's always good to know.
