Meant to be over 4000 containers on board. Bow and stern now 19 miles apart and stern is on fire according to Bloomberg and Times of India.

Graphics on this one look like Thunderbirds!

I don't think it's a new idea.
It's just never been tried on this scale before

Perfect example of how big is not always best, good to see bulkheads worked as they should.

Will be interesting to follow the investigation of this one. Vessel was pretty new 2008, mostly older bulk carriers carrying heavy cargo are the one braking in two...Guess that the outcome is the result of severall different resons but time will tell.

Ah, that suggests that you already knew it was full of containers. I must presume then that you REALLY meant what is in all those containers?

So, let's go again - "What is in all those Containers?"

Anyone? No?

Stuff, Humber P4VWL, lot's of stuff. But probably a lot less stuff than the Insurance Companies are now being told there is.....

Lad I know manages the loading of these ships, he's given details of all containers that need loading along with a plan of the ship, then he has to work out which part of the ship to load, apparently there's everthing from food, computers - tyres - toys - clothes and things that could go bang! fireworks chemicals etc, containers are mostly all different weights, and each one will have its designated position, somtimes loading empty containers to pack around the things that could go bang or catch fire. he gets to travel the world, and gets paid loadsa wonga.
