Seriously though Steve-Rib, possibly a good job that you were in an old 5 series, they are tough as boots. I drove a 525 TDS touring for eight years and clocked up 297k miles in it. A lift pump and a set of heater plugs were the only things it ever needed. A kid in a chaved-up Clio being chased by the cops finally put pay to it. The guy that bought it had it back on the road in two days using 2nd hand parts. He's been around Germany in it since.

I HAD a mate who drove over the Whichers gate bridge at well over 100mph pissed, his car left the road (where the new fence is) and he managed to crawl away before it blew up! The police found him in the woods with 4 breaks in his spine! Too injured to be breathalized he got away with it the dick. All the breaks went the right way and he was able to walk again!
