HNY to you too Stuart!!

Just think, it'll be a lovely trip round, better value than Alton Towers

I see the Princeton got away before Christmas ok, is Chiefton all set in the water now do you know?
The dock is full of barges/tugs at the mo, so full they're also mooring some barges in other sheltered areas up river too. Think there's a dredger coming in at some point - not sure where they'll park that yet

If you look at the bottom webcam - http://www.mhpa.co.uk/webcams.php - they're building a jackup barge at the mo in the dock. It arrived in many pieces on a ship the other week, and they've been building it ever since. Spud legs are about to go on now too I think, then she should be completed.

Only 50 containers fallen off - so far!!! A beachcomber's paradise - wish I lived a bit closer. I wonder who's cunning plan it was to run it ashore in Lyme bay rather than let it sink in deep water - prob the indurance company???

Bloody hell what you still doing up? Sure you could manage - or even stick an outboard on the container. With my luck I would get a load of catalogue returns or instant noodles....

Been out the back bracing the fence-it started to move. It's getting worse here.

I did think about it-I'd prob need a 1" pitch prop to move a 25 tonne 40' container with my outboard

Course, the salvage would be worth it but maybe just a tad too dangerous in f9...

Stu? Lend us a tug?

"The vessel is carrying 2,323 containers, 158 of which are classed as hazardous according to the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code.
Devon and Cornwall Constabulary are advising the public to avoid the Sidmouth/Branscombe area.
Members of the public who may sight a container are being advised to report it to Portland Coastguard on 01305 760439 and must keep well clear."

Of course they don't want anyone getting hurt!!!

Anyone heard of the film "Whiskey Galore"???

Hehehehehe

Y'know, even a container full of instant noodles is a lot of moneys worth.

Bear in mind that a can of black bitumen is classed as hazardous.
I bet the nasty stuff is in container tanks.

If they let it sink in deep water, there would be more of a hazard to navigation than there is now since there would be a lot more containers floating around ready to cause major damage.

At least in her current situation they have control over her ie she's not going anywhere. I suspect they will now end up having to do a similar job to what Svitzer had to do last year with the CP Valour that went aground down in the Azores.
