I planned on selling it once i'd got back but its just been to useful to let go so i'm planning a trip to the pyrenees next year with the old boy who's 74 and still riding an 1150rt. There's a good forum F650.co.uk if you do decide on one

I stuck over 50k miles on a 1999 model. Great all rounder, Poor finish quality, Easy to ride and most importantly Reliable.. however it passed away at a set of traffic lights when the gearbox shit it'self...

A Suzuki SV650 -is always temping but the engine breaking takes some getting your head around.

B Kawasaki ER5/6 - Easy to ride, Smoother than the SV650, 300 training schools cant be wrong

C Honda CBF 5/600 - A great allrounder, Honda quality - nuff said

D Honda Deuville 650/700 - My current weapon, Shaft drive, Weather protection, Carrying capacity, Lighter than my Pan European 1100.

Any of the above is better than any 125. Get your licence done and enjoy 2 Wheels.

Cheers Seabay, I'm looking at doing the quick access which will probably be after Christmas. I'm having an op on my knee next sunday so I will be out of action for a good six weeks anyway.

I think they got cocky and decided cbrs would sell no matter what they looked like.

Cbf 125. It looks quite sporty, is about a grand less than the cbr but is pretty much just as nippy. It's the best selling bike in the uk. I got one recently, it's great. Got 134mpg from my last tank (10.66 to brim it) and that was with some fairly exuberant riding. I wouldn't swap it for anything.

He's seen sense and is giving the 125's a wide berth, to slow, no torque, crap in the wind. If your going down the 2 wheeled route, wait till summer.
