BBC how can you??

I was was watching "waking the dead " yesterday. This is an excellent program.. but what did we hear - quite amazing really...

Boyd comparing dress ..quote ( nearly literally)

"the man is wearing a designer over coat while the two yobs seem to be dressed by Tesco's"

I find that quite insulting and if I was in charge of Tesco - would sue the pants off the BBC. On my frequent visits to the Uk - do a lot of shopping at Tescos- because its the best value for money on a whole range of products. They don't sell ribs .. yet. or aston martins ( codders) or LR's but I dont see why they shoul'nt.Most of the non food is made in PRC so what? if its good quality?. I was also amazed to see that the great paragon of uk shopping M&S has also sourced a lot of clothes from the PRC as well...

Asda are selling jeans for £3 today. How the hell does that make economic sense?

Most of the chav scum up here are dressed in Adidas, La Coste, or Burberry. Don't see Tesco's selling any of that.

Cheers, WMM

Hi Nick Happy new year.

Skin flint - perfectly right and proud to be !!!!!!!

I think people might have missed my point.

I am not against buying jeans at 3 quid a throw.. marveleous. I am against
buying carrots at Sainsbury for 1 quid a bag when. at Tescos for the same bag and supplier you get them at 65p.
My point is just because its Tesco's should not imply that the quality is crap??
What will be the argeuement when Tescos start selling branded products at 30% less??

As regards globalisation, I think it is great. It keeps the chinese occupied in creating wealth rather than war. Mind -you we still have Stephen Luxon in the falklands .... unseemingly touched by chinese imports or if I recall you famous words " korean junk" - Sorento 40000 miles - total service bill todate -- some 300 quid.
