There are some good gadgets etc if you know what you are looking for - I had some LED torches - strobe lights - fire extinguishers etc and also foam excercise mats to make into flat fenders.

Their food though is German toxic waste repackaged.

Had a cup of tea in someone's house other day - water was completely clear even after 10 mins of the tea bag standing in it - tried another one - just the same!!! Only conclsuion was Lidl have invented waterproof tea bags!!!!!

Scary Des,

I dont know how this regional malarkey works but it's annoying. Off to get some spanners when they start, they usually disappear quick, no doubt to reappear at vast mark up on eBay or at car boots.

Looks like Codders isnt enamoured with the Deutche Herbal tea Co, Aldi lager often pops up in "Shameless" TV series.

Also available ring spanners 6 piece set @ £1-79 6mm - 17mm.

Ho hum...I went in to buy the car CD/MP3 player.... but they'd sold out. Opened at 9:00am, all gone by 9:10. Apparently there were queues outside....

Got a nice spanner set, powersupply, soldering iron, screwdrivers, cuttlery set, wine glasses, .... cuddlytoy... Bargain..... Course I didn't need any of it......

They work brilliantly in very dark conditions but the cheaper ones are next to useless when there are bright lights around - for example coming into a typical port etc.

The IR illuminators are also very effective and have a long range - don't expect picture quality to be brilliant on a Gen1 scope but it is perfectly usable - well worth the money I reckon. I don't have the same unit as Lidl are selling but mine's close enough.

Look at the price for people who always go on about prices in the UK being a Rip off - bought mine off Ebay last year for £130.
