There ya go, Cod. You could really put all ya lathes, grinders, welders etc. to good use if you invested in one of them!

They must almost be worth that money in scrap. Could we put half a dozen ribs together and tow them over. Then set Codders on them with his pocket OxyAcetylene kit. We could put the proceeds towards a Christmas 'P' up!

Probably about as seaworthy as most of the Russian Navy.

Imagine comming into Portsmouth Harbour unannounced in one of those . Take it though the small boat channel and see everyone scuttling out the way

And using £1800 in gas it would be a nice cheap day out.

Sounds like he plucked a number from the sky when he says 65knts, especially as the website only mentions just over 40.

Remember, these are gas turbines which make tremendous horsepower, 65 knots is probably not optimistic, but realistic, 40 odd meters and almost 13,000 horsepower! I would not want to be in it's wake.

I would concentrate on getting your rib on the water, dodging the suits and back to good old blighty before setting your sights on an ex warship torpedo boat, the suz 2t 225 would look a bit lost on that back of that

I'm sure it's a bad idea to spend more on the tender than on the big one Codders :

If it wasn't for the mooring fees I would go for it!!!

Talking of which why do you see so many old tatty ships tied up rotting away - people just can't be paying the going rate for them - can they???

Limited market I guess unless you're paying below scrap metal price-and if they can't move to a breakers under their own steam then tugs are expensive.

I suspect quite a few of them are listed as substantial assets on company books too.
