Couldn't believe this video when I first saw it - thought it was a joke but apparently not!!!

It shows some private security forces in Iraq randomly shooting at any vehicle that takes their fancy.

It is NOT gory as such - wouldn't have mentioned it otherwise but it does make you wonder just how many people MAY have been hurt.

Care to explain your thinking? As far as I'm concerned this is an illegal war, prosecuted in furtherance of US oil interests. Saddam had no WMD, was against Al Qaeda and Islamic Fundamentalism, and whatever shit he gave his people was
(a) not really any of our business - unless we're really going to start addressing totalitarianism across the globe, and there's plenty of it and
(b) nowhere near as bad as the random acts of lethal violence being performed across Iraq by the keepers of the peace

Oh and if it's about the 2 UN resolutions that Iraq allegedly breached - firstly the UN wasn't that concerned and, for comparison, between 1955 and 1992 the UN issued 85 resolutions against a rogue Middle Eastern State with a history of illegal occupation and armed aggression who are known to have WMD. Anybody want to guess its name? Heres a clue - America's its best mate and has personally vetoed another 35 resolutions the UN wanted!

Yes it's a very complex problem.

On the one hand Maddas deserves all he gets - it is obvious he is a nasty bit of work BUT is what the US and the UK are doing in the name of peace any better - really???

There are many countries on this Earth run be evil maniacs - why haven't they been removed by Bush and Blair?

To be honest I do NOT think it was about oil - it was about the fact that the Yanks had a bloody nose after Sept 11th and wanted REVENGE - the fact that Saddam and Iraq had NOTHING to do with it is a minor technicallity as far as most Yanks are concerned.

The reason I say it's not about oil? Who is the high oil price hurting the most? The USA - and who benefits the most - Russia and countries like Iran!!!

I do fear maybe we are missing the point of the above video here.

There is a huge about of background and difference of views on Iraq and the war that has been started and to a degree, controled by the UK and its bigger brother. My own thought will say with me but what the video shows is very very disturbing.

Here we have a well trusted private firm operating in Iraq in a manner that suggests it is without rules or control. This however is not the case for the vast majority of private firms working in this field; i hope the people and firms involved get whats coming to them!

There are a huge number of peoples lives in the safety of such firms and in the most part, every effort is made to ensure their clients safety as much as the wider public.

The actions of a few "cowboys" can not take anything away from the thousands of people who risk their lives for the sake of others every day of the week.
