i will dive anywhere, but i do need at least 1 wreck per trip.

our club dives mostly along the south coast, but also scapa, west wales, farne isles, scillies, med, red sea, where ever we can afford to go!! (being a university club)

Where did you dive in Norway Andy? I've dived out of Bergen and around the North Cape - both excellent trips.

Went out of Bergen with Gordon on the Jane R, probably the best wreck diving I have ever done, totally mind blowing vis. We met this guy at Fugie (sp) who after some quality Vodka started telling us about a frighter that he got the bell off. Showed us on the chart where it was and we dived it the next day. It sunk after running up rocks in fog and was in about 55m. Totally intact c/w lifeboat and pyro's in the wheelhouse.
I would like to do Narvik for the battleships but the logistics are a nightmare. Norway is a lovely place, I quite fancy taking the rib over at some point.
Cheers
Andy

Hi Andy

Our club has done 3 norway trips with Gordon now! (I've been on 2 of them).

Narvik is meant to be great (the trip I missed) - as its so shallow the best thing apparently is to use Gordons cylinders and just fly up with suit, stab and regs.

Bergen was really good - our best dives were the Willhelm and the Ferndale/Paratt

We did the Kirkenes -> Tromso trip last summer. Not so many wrecks, but the Murmansk was awesome! Tromso is a great place to party too. Gordon hasnt changed and was chasing women at every opportunity!

Some photos here:

Would love to do some cruising in the fjords around Bergen - would be a great holiday. Really love the country, despite the beer price!

Norway Diving

Any of you dived with Orcas in Norway? In autumn they feed on fish shoals in the fiords. It's on my wish list of dives to do and wonder if anyone has experienced this one. If so, can you recommend an operator to dive with? Tried to set it up a couple of years ago but my son was too young for the dive company insurance cover.
