I had a similar problem with a Sony Bravia, 3 years old, Sony weren't interested, binned it. Got a Panasonic now, so far so good.

That's the problem with Honesty, Peter, you either have it or you don't. Looks like Bogmonster has been taken short!

Thanks all. When the Mrs isn't looking I'll biff it with a hammer and see if it cures the problem.

It is a digital freeview signal, not actually tried it with the DVD input when it is playing up, will do tomorrow. Don't think I can be arsed to try and fix it myself, too much else to do.

I'd go for dry joint too and the place to start is the power supply...it'll get warm. If you find big transistors strapped to heatsinks, start there.

You boys need to start thinking 'outside da box'....

Strap a 1000w electric oil filled radiator to the back of it, plug it in and leave it on all the time......... Fixes the TV AND warms the house up at the same time....Simples. :-)

This is true, my point being sometimes a little persuasion is needed! I've been trying to convince my misuse to go 3D for a long time. As she's unable to see 3D images she thinks its a waste of money. If it fell off the wall we'd have no choice but to get another in which case it may as well be the next model up

Incase you thought anything different I wasn't suggesting you should break it for an insurance jobbie....

Hmmm I see a plot developing here. The small regional earthquake might also cause the 42" plasma to fall off the table in the living room
