I'm Probably in the market for a new pair of planks for the snow next season and would like to hear what real people have skied this year. (cheaper than buying a mag and reading how good all the skis are)

At the moment i'm using Salomon Aero X .
They are one of the best pairs of skis i've owned in a long time (certainly since my first pair of Dynastar Course Tomato tops ) but they need to be resigned to dry mat use over the summer.

Anyone any recomendations on a replacement? More of the same or is there something better?

At last a ski review that i can almost believe )

Excellent ski. I tried them alongside Scott Missions in superb powder conditions at Tignes in October. It was a close call, but in the end I bought the Missions as a little bit more versatile, especailly in sofetr snow. All comments come with the caveat that I am a crap skier and know nothing.

Interesting link mollers and glad i read it ad i had almost convinced myself that apache would have been good for me. Mainly based on there look which i know is very wrong

Yeah, the Apache Crossfires are great looking skis in orange and black, the Magnums look a bit pants by comparison. I was really disappointed with the Crossfires, they were very ordinary.

I skied on the Xwing Tornados in Winter Park - I'm an ex ski guide and a bit older now with knees that have skied a few too many bumps, and they were great all round skis - powder, bumps and cruising were all easy on them, and they were quite stable at speed as well!

A ski shop in London, I think it was in Edgware had one of those 25 years ago, a bit smaller and weird to ski on.
