anti-tamper screws like torx

I am trying to find the name of an anti-tamper screw that (so that I can source the appropriate tool). It looks like a torx (star shaped) (6 pointed I think) but has a pin in the middle so the tool will need a corresponding whole in the middle. I think it is around 8mm across. The pin is about 1.5mm.

Anyone know what its called?

I thought they were just called "torx security bits" - somewhere at work we have a set like this

which has the whole lot both male and female, and the security bits. Bit pricey though

- however there are cheaper options from Draper if you look on the same site.

Of course the other alternative is a small chisel to "modify" the security bit in the middle

thanks Stephen - google seems to agree with you - I thought all Torx bits were intended for security/anti-tamper but it seems I am wrong and they were invented to make the car assembly process easier rather than the dissasembly process harder!

thanks - If it was my property it would have been drilled out already but I don't really want a charge for criminal damage.

Maplin sell a pack of bits which fit most of the anti-tamper screws. I think you get 20 pieces for about £8. They're the 1/4" hex shank type.

Security Torx. Pin-in Torx. Anti-tamper Torx.

They go by quite a few names.

nothing - I have a trailer to pull my daughter behind my bike. There are some gates on a cycleway nearby to stop cars getting through with a narrow twisted opening to allow bikes through. The articulation on the trailer hitch will allow it through in one direction but not the other. Fortunately the gate is not locked just secured with a Torx Security bolt in a shackle. It will be secured again once I am through.
