Another Busy Year for GAFIRS

The Gosport and Fareham Inshore Rescue Service had another busy year in 2009
In its 40th year of service it was involved in 138 incidents not including over 200 hours supporting the Ambulance service during the snow

GAFIRS is a Declared Independent Inshore Lifeboat with the Coastguard, on call 24/7 and is not part of the RNLI
Its is operated and manned by 100% volunteers

26th Feb2010 Go Orange for Independent Lifeboats Day - the Independent Lifeboats around the UK , of which there are approx 60 for the first time are joining togther to raise awareness .
