Have a similar one. Bought the Navara on it. 3% cashback and interest free. Happy days!

I am thinking about getting a new car. I will try and buy it on the AMEX, if they agree my application.

Good plan. Dealer's face was a picture when I produced it! Just gotta force yourself to pay it off within the interest free period - otherwise could wind up with nastily high interest payments ... other option would be to switch it to another product. AMEX can be a pain though - lots of places won't accept it.

I was thinking about that. I can't find a list online either.

When I bought my RIB, I slapped my AMEX down and the dealer almost had a stroke. He didn't want to take it due to the portion he had to pay to AMEX. The compromise was that he knocked off $500 or so, in exchange for a cheque...

Yep about that - is why they can give so much back.

I had an interesting conversation with a customer of mine years ago about how they had negotiated a cut of the amex percentage in exchange for allowing AMEX to be accepted in their outlets. The negotiations at the large business level can get very interesting!

And dont ever miss a payment...

I did whilst abroad - after nearly 10 years as a 'member' with a perfect account record - within 10 days despite numerous phone calls to them and a cheque sent immedately by the other half to resolve it my account had been passed to a debt collection agency - for £130 and the cheque returned saying that the account was closed.

This is their credit card. Not to confused with their older green (or gold, platinum!) charge card.
