I wouldn't take a life jacket off if not wearing a dry suit a dry suit it's self will support a commercial diver wearing full kit so long as all the air has not been dumped from his suit different to scuba where they have a stab jacket to inflate as well so no problem removing mine.

I am thinking the anchor rope could be used around my lower leg while travelling and used for the anchor while fishing.

Mate polys right rope has a mind of its own in water get wrapped up in that and it's over OMO your firefighting if it's that bad you shouldn't go get your self a fishing buddy

deflate tubes of boat if its RIB and crawl in , but does not work if you have a hard rib like Poly

If wearing dry suit 275 N Lifejacket is recommened and you will not be swimming - DSC Radio and PLB
