When during the Battle Napoleon asked Marshall Ney why he could'nt advance past the famous 'Thin red line' ( Yep..rumour has it there MAY... have been a few Jock's there too!)
He said the English Infantry were like ''Iron stakes driven into the Ground!!''
A bit of that Spirit, and a Good Home Crowd will see em off!
Early days I know, but the Lions tour Down Under should be something to savour too!..When the Home Nations have finished trying to Cripple each Other!!
Sorry Matthew but The Thin Red Line was a heroic action by the brave men of Sutherland Highlanders the 93rd Regiment at the battle of Balaclava. Sorry but it is another proud piece of Scottish history well know to all Scots.

Sure enough Billy. In point of fact my Uncle (by marriage! and a lovely Guy) a one Tom Dochetry, was in the Argyle and Southern Highlanders in the 60's and fought under Mad Mitch! had a Large Print of the Action above his Fireplace!
Although the Phrase has been used in other contexts about the entire British army.
Anyhow.... we're Still going to Bash la Bleu!! AND Win the Grand Slam!

No probs. mad Mitch my god there's a name to behold! Apart from all the banter it's good that people support their team that's the way it should.
