What I was trying to point out is that rather than ban ALL bikes - or bring in silly speed limits - why not just ban the 2 strokes - I am sure some of them must be way over the db limit anyway!!!
Well, I do agree with him as I live just off a main access road to Wales, and the Pillocks with loud (illegal) cans on that rev the tnuts off them as they scream through are feckin' irritating.
Why not Police that hard and confiscate/crush all those with loud race cans on...? Problem solved

Shouldn't be that hard - just give them a db meter - they only cost about 60!!!

Codders, you're finally succuming to the charms of blair and his pals with banning talk..as Jono says, just get rid of the cans.

OK maybe I should have said stupid small high revving 2 strokes!!! I love the sound of my 2.7L V6 one..............

I remember years ago the Police DID clamp down on noisy bikes etc - obviously now there aren't enough Police on the roads - maybe they should add microphones to their cameras.............

I have to be honest I have been on top of the Beacons looking down on a road and a bike came along at high speed with an incredibly loud exhaust - the sheep scattered in both directions ahead of him like the parting of the Red Sea!!!

Interesting but usual views on roads and bikes etc from both sides .

I would like to see the police stopping anyone seen driving badly or too slowly holding up traffic and send them on an advanced driving course , then watch accident figures drop .

If you ride a bike you will understand that its a bit like being the resposible owner of a fast rib .
there is a relatively small minority of sportsbikers out there who just wind throttles on fast bikes in the wrong places and piss everyone off . Fact is few of them can ride and drop like flies on the open road . These are the prats giving bikes a bad name and the ones having most of the accidents.

In the same way there is always the idiot on the jetski or old speedboat blasting around near the slip or in the harbour which gets all owners of fast looking boats tarred with the same brush by those who don't understand .

As for 2 stroke bikes apart from scooters they are all pretty much long gone even off road .

<heads off to garage to fabricate turbo mounting flange for the GS1100G>

Now THATS a proper silencer...

And that's my reasoned argument on the subject.

Dukes are 2 cylinder not 2 stroke.
