Go on to Microsofts web site and type in that code. They will tell you what the problem is.

Unfortunately it's one of those great error messages that really means bugger all.....

Could be one of many things - start with the obvious like checking no setting have changed etc.

As a last resort try typing in your password again.

I take it you can browse the net fine with it?

yep web browsing is fine and can send a very small email just say test in the tittle box the only pointers I can find are to do with a possible problem with outlook express

tried a registrysmart download fix to but no good

Ahh so you CAN send some mails then?

Are you trying to send attachments perhaps? Something could be blocking them??? Try disabling outgoing mail checking on Megafee. Even better ditch Megafee and get this

http://free.grisoft.com/doc/1

It's brilliant and totally FREE!!!

Go here for a workaround:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/813514

Or you could use system restore to an earlier date than the problem occurred.
