Yes, it was a good day out. The only shame was that I didn't get to meet and chat to any new people as the tables were all spread out for lunch. Perhaps next time the pub we use could put them all together to make one long one. Also we didn't realise that everyone was heading west after lunch for a photo.

Also, I think we should display our RIB.net usernames on the boats so we can quickly see who has turned up.

I did that. Think I was the only one. It was just a piece of A4 paper with my RIBNET name enclosed in a clear plastic sheet stuck on the windscreen.
I took it off at Yarmouth as nobody else had done the same.

Hi Nick,

It's a lobster pot buoy.

I was having trouble keeping the bow up actually-but didn't dare let off the throttle as the sea was too confused to let the bow drop any more.
Probably something to do with over 300kg of people, gear and fuel aboard. It normally waltzes across the top of worse than that.

I knew we were going to get soaked so we were both wearing stuff that would keep us warm even if it was wringing wet.

My mate who came with us came over last night. He's still very sore but I think he might well be after a rib now . What I didn't realise was while the water went over my head he got a mouthful with such a force it was coming out of his nose in jets. Pretty much all I remember was a wall of water going over me and the boat filling and emptying very quickly.

Matt,

The way I see it is that a Searider at least lets you go out in that sort of crap even if its wet. Then when you get the chance to go bigger it all seems so easy.
The Searider is an excellent all weather starting boat.
See you for the next one and I'll buy you that pint this time.
