Whitby tomorrow (Saturday)

planning to have a trip out to Whitby tomorrow to try for a few mackies. HW is around 2.30pm, should be able to launch anytime after 11, should make for a civilised departure & return time. Anybody up for it?

A friend stayed there last weekend and caught some great fish. Wrecks were not doing a lot and caught most about 2 miles out.

Well, I wasn't expecting that!! Got there around 11, grey sky, drizzle, 17deg, easterly 4 blowing straight into the harbour mouth, lumpy sea. forecast was N 2-3 smooth to slight. Anyway we stuck it for a couple of hours, got about a dozen good size Mackie including a couple of whoppers & a tidy codling. Loads of small haddock & codling that got thrown back. Just polished off the mackies, half on the BBQ & half in the smoker
