Whitby this Sat 26th

Fuel hose has split! Just spotted it before a 2 hour drive to Whitby, looks like I'll miss the tide unless my repair is a quick one

Yup Smooth flat seas, seals, porpoises very atmospheric in the mist. Good run down to Scarborough, where the friendliest harbour master sorted a pontoon out for us & let us tie up for a couple of hours
gratis Fish & chips & then couple of hours fishing in the afternoon yielded the last 3 mackerel of the season & a 5lb cod. A great day was then finished with a barbie & a beer (or 6) back at base. Sunday morning brought clearer skies & a procession of vintage farm vehicles/tractors/stationary engines etc onto the farm for a Vintage Rally. So after bacon & duck egg butties, we wandered around the field looking at a different set of boys playing with their land based toys
A leisurely coffee & bun in the on-site ice cream parlour & a steady drive home before the traffic. All in all a cracking weekend & nice to be able to grab one out of the bag at this time of year.

There are 2 tackle shop in Whitby one next door to the cafe & one near to the car park on the other side of the bridge both well stocked with bait & tackle👍

Whitby Angling Supplies has either gone or moved, that's the one over the bridge to the right.
