Not really looking for anything other than the fact that it is just good manners to acknowledge someone when they respond to your thread and could add something to your holiday.

Sorry if I hurt your feelings, it certainly wasn't my intention. I hadn't realised that you were expecting an immediate response and was going to get back to you when I had a better idea of what we might be doing.

Me too I probably came over a wee bitty overly strong, apologies. I just thought that you had not even given my response to you any rating whatso ever. It was not my intention to pigged back your holiday, more offer you some local info & advice and If I was up and about the chance of some company on a day cruise somewhere. I take your point it is early doors plenty of time.
Cheers for now
Regards
B

Redbay 11 Cruising

You will love the Redbay 11 25kn in most conditions 2800 revs 2.5ltr per hour. But if you open up the throttles it becomes a bit like the Irish likes a good drink (of the red stuff!)
You have some fantastic cruising ground out of Craobh Haven, Rathlin is only 60 miles away!
Happy boatin!

hi john
we will be on iona that week with our ribcraft 7.8. Will probably head round from its base just south of oban on the saturday and then weather permitting we will be doing a good bit of touring from iona over the week - colonsay, tiree, ulva, treshnish isles all possibilities as well as some cracking more hidden beaches.

let me know nearer the time if you fancy heading round to iona for a day and i'd be more than happy to show you some of the local gems. Its about 90 mins from craobh if you are going at a leisurely cruising speed.

Fingers crossed for the weather - we dont have a nice heated cabin like you!!

Ally

Hi John

We are based up at head of Seil sound and will be around that week. You've chosen a good week as West Highland Yachting Week kicks off from Craobh Haven on Sunday 31st July, our kids always enjoy going out to watch the start of the race and there's usually a good party at the pub on the Saturday night before the race.

Drop us a PM nearer the time. Can give you pointers for the best beaches for the kids.

Paul

I know it's good, but I don't think it can possibly be that good!

Thanks to everyone who has replied, it looks like being a great week and I'll definitely be in touch with you all nearer the time to make a plan. In the meantime I'm off to start a comprehensive programme of live sacrifices to the weather gods!

If you wanted to borrow a boat in Scotland for a week you only had to ask! Although it might have been a bit smaller and slower than what you've ended up with.

Don't forget a few sacrafices for the midge gods too - normally you'll be fine if you keep moving in a rib - but I'm guessing once they get inside that cabin you are basically going to get eaten alive!
