West Country Dash from Solent - Weekend 20th August

Hi,

A friend of mine and I are planning a West Country Dash from the Solent on the weekend of 20/21st August and probably tack on the Monday 22nd

The loose plan at the moment would be to leave the Hamble at about 10am on Saturday 20th August and head to Salcombe, it is about 100nm so cruising at 25 knots, circa 4-5 hours arriving for a late lunch and having the portland race with us as we round the bill.

Could do a fuel and stretch legs stop in Portland (roughly half way) if needed, very early stages of planning but wondered if anyone is up for a west country adventure, thought we might do night in Salcombe, night in Dartmouth and then home. Possible B&B or camping? Again early stages.

My rib is a Cobra 7.55 and my mate is a Stingher 8m.

That weekend is the Bournemouth air show and I know a lot of 'Solenters' head to the display ( us included ), BTW great air show

Ooh sounds like an excuse to get out and see some planes. Don't think I will be doing the 100miler though but would like to see some pics of your Cobra 7.5 as that's what we have just bought.

Hey,

This is my second one I have owned, missed the last one so much I bought another, only difference was last one had the verado and this one has the suzuki!

They are great boats, I bought mine is quite a state but have done quite a bit to it,deep tube clean and protect, re-upholstered, stripe replacements, new covers for front seats, console, rear seats and also and overall on water cover Flexiteek going down in a few weeks and generally caring and loving for her!
