I read in the harbour news letter that they have been " improving" penmarlem over the winter.
Whats the camp site like ?, I hope to get down at some point in the summer .

The campsite is Ideal for couples, spotless and well managed. There isn't a lot for kids tho.
The major advantage is the slipway and moorings. Its a pleasure to nip to Fowey for meal in your own boat.

Pontoon. I have done daily launch there, but only in an SR4 and it's worth the money for the pontoon berth. Make sure your anodes are good though-mine always look like they've been eaten after a couple of weeks in the water there.

Last year we paid for a mooring for our 2 week holiday which made life very easy. If you take that option you have the right to use any of the Fowey pontoons so there is no need to use the ferry or water taxi.
This year because we have a seasonal pitch the best deal for us is the summer pass for the car, trailor with unlimited use of the slipway and 16 days on the pontoon.
Andy works the Penmarlam side and he is very helpful,he helped me on my 1st every launch and I didn't forget his first bit of advice "get a VHF and always wear your kill cord"
Also the cafe next to the slipway does a great full breakfast when you don't feel like cooking.
