I've never done round the IOW either, but don't think I can make Sunday. If you don't do it this time let me know and I'll be up for the next one.

I can't make it but I can recommend Ventnor.

There's a cracking little harbour there and the harbour master (name escapes me) is very friendly and accomodating.
His phone number and VHF channel are in the almanac.
There is a tidal 'window' for entry-exit.
There is a pub within 50 yards of the harbour which serves food, another one at the far end of the prom (also serves food).

You could also try anchoring in Whitecliffe bay and swimming/wading ashore. There are a couple of chip butty and nug of tea type of kiosks on the beach there. Another cracking spot on the right day.

Have a good day.

Hannah, Mike.

Pop it to Priory Bay and say hello if you see my Grubby Yellow Ocean anchored up as you go past.
I'm taking the kids over for a picnic and games on the beach.

Wow, what a cracking day

Was good to meet you Mike/Hannah... hope you both enjoyed it as much as I did.

Was a bit rough on the north side of the island, but hardly any wind on the southern side so only the big swell to contend with.

Other than me touching the bottom at bembridge I think we did well today

Hope to see you out there again!
