What are the options? I don't want to put the boat in the marina as I intend to move it around during the week we are down including a trip to Cardigan bay. As normal I intend to launch and recover each day.
Anywhere else in the area to launch ? marinas etc?
Im going to talk to them as soon as we have a good Idea of how many are comming ...AS for £70-£80 will pm you all with details

The web info on boatlaunch says £20 to register a boat and £38 for a "season ticket" lasting a few months. Local knowledge of an alternative would be appreciated

Camping on the beach maybe your only option as there's a bit of a bike race on

Accommodation on the Isle of Man during TT can be a problem!!! IF you want to find somewhere we need to act NOW, camping may be easier to arrange. Normally, I would have beds available but they were all filled 2 weeks ago, sorry!! Let me know if I can be of asistance.

Might even join you for the trip back.
Have you got room in your garden for a camp site?

Not really John, no. But...............there is a large campsite right opposite my house. Looks v. neat and tidy. Upstands for motorhomes etc.
Only problem is, it is on the "wrong" side of the island for Douglas. Not that that should stop you! Transport can be arranged. Bout 20 mins. from Douglas to Peel.

John
I am sure we can find a camp site nearer Douglas but we will need to have an idea on numbers fairly soon.

I am planning on a change of job, so if I do get the new job and the leave pattern works out my brother and I were thinking about motoring down from the Clyde.
Ive had a wee look on the ships Transas for some distances and am thinking of the following

Portpatrick to Douglas passing North of the Bahama Bank and rounding the Bahama Cardinal Mark is 62' (a wee bit shorter if we cut the bank at one of its deeper bits) so if we just sit at 20kts to save on fuel, it should take approx 7 1/2 hrs (with an hours stop at Portpatric) at 20kts I recon we could do it in a tank and a half ish of diesel

We were thinking about trying to find a wee bit of grass at a campsite or just pitch up on a beach somewhere, probably spend a day on they way to IOM with a full day at IOM then a day heading back up to the Clyde.

Again totaly unsure as in my current job I cant make it but if I do get this new job who knows!!!!

Will need to wait and see.

Graeme

An overnight stop was originally considered but with 28 boats now expressing an interest, it was felt that organising berthing, accomodation and transport for 20+ crews in TT week would be a nightmare so we're sticking with a day trip and round Anglesey on the Sunday.

If you want to stay over, you could travel over with the main group and link up with the Anglesey cruise on the Sunday.

Organising of launching/berthing and costs etc is going on behind the scenes so as soon as we know the details, we'll post them

That list is not in alphabetical order! No attention to detail!
Will need a hand written list of MMSI and call signs to

At this rate launching is going to take about 2 hours.
