Right, I've tried to distill all the important information from this thread into a couple of posts which are in a new, locked thread.

If there's anythng that needs adding or changing please PM me or post here and I'll update it.

Looks like I might not be coming in my own RIB but all being well will be annoying Neil M along the way on his RIB.

Biggest problem is not enough fuel storage, I've only got two 25L tanks.

2. how far is the trip ?

3. What time is kick off ?

This would be my maiden voyage ! is it ambitious or just a good introduction ?

I would PM GED, but I reckon it should not be a problem.

Is it ambitious, no - not with the support you will have around you on the day
Is it a good introduction, yes - see above

I am bringing a 25l tank which will be empty both ways (it will be used to get a tank or two of fuel to top off the main tank in IOM)
You can certainly fill and use both ways if you want as long as I can get it on the island to refill my main tank?

Likewise - carrying empty tank there and back and only using for a tank or two in Douglas. You're welcome to carry it if it helps as long as I can use it in Douglas.

Adam.

More than happy to help here as well, if you want to take your own RIB. I've got a 40 litre main tank and a 25 litre I'm jus about to attach as a reserve/provide enough to get across. I'm also taking another 80 litres in 4 20 litre jerry cans that will all be full on the way over.

More than happy to lend you a full one for the trip across, then all you will need to do is fill 3 of them, which I will have emptied into my two tanks, for the trip back

What's all this carrying empty cans?
If you're going to carry a can, carry a full one. You or someone else may need it before you get to the petrol filling station.
