If its a day trip to the Scillies I might be able to join you. I live 12 miles from Penzance so it would be a good opportunity to meet fellow ribsters.
The weather would have to be stable as my Zodiac Pro goes skyward in heavy chop.

A day trip seems like a wasted opportunity to me. There's lots to see around the islands, so to zap over, then turn around and run back wouldn't allow you to get the most out of it.

I agree.
As I need to be down in Milford Haven by Thursday 25th July, even a day trip after Monday will be cutting it fine for me.
For the past few years we've done the Alderney run on the weekend before (ie Fri 19th/ Sat 20th and Sun 21st July) - so how about we provisionally aim to do the Isles of Scilly trip that weekend instead?
Depending on people's availability to boat on the Friday and the tides (which I've not looked at at all) - and the weather of course - how about we aim to leave the mainland on Friday (19th July) and come back on the Sunday, or if preferred go on Saturday and come back on Sunday?

We stayed on Bryher - basic, but clean campsite with a decent pub next door.
