Brian, it's still 9 days away and, at this stage, this is something of a long shot, but it looks to me as if a big blob of high pressure is building in the East Altantic and heading towards Plymouth. Incredibly, this year the weather might just be nice.

Mike I do hope this is not one of your legendary "Azores High" which no-one has ever seen

In the past you have claimed that either: "it isn't moving from the Azores" or "it seems to have dissapated"

I simply tell everyone the weather will be crap, and if it's any better than that, well "what a bonus-see what happens when you come ribbing with me".

I personally think the Azores move! There always seems to be a high over the islands but it always go north or only make it to the Bay of Biscay!

Brian

Unfortunately I will no longer be able to make this weekend.

A real pity, as this was the main cruise I was looking forward to.

Still hoping to make the Scillies trip though - but wont be able to confirm for a week or so

Graeme

Brian, at the risk of being a clever-dick, I'll continue to stick my neck out for the time being.

It's gonna be windy from the West and South West through to next Thursday. That's cos there's a low which is forecasted to remain pretty much stationery over the north of UK and a high creeping up over France. The air squeezed bewteen the two is going quite fast.

If that low dissipates or moves off to the East and the high over France walks north over Charles it could reach Plym by Friday. We'll see.....

Anybody in Plymouth Friday evening ?

I will be down and staying at the Invicta Friday and Saturday so if anybody else is about Friday would be good to meet up for a beer.
