Hi all, If I can get the boat finnished and the trailer built by then we would be interested in joining in. Just one question, is it the same up here as south of the border where you have to have a BWB licence for the boat to use it on the rivers and if so what do they cost.

Will I need to get an ATIS number from OFCOM to use the radio on the river? Also what are the plans for the return trip down river as we will be towing the RIB to the launch site with the motorhome and then going a bit further up the coast (Latheron Wheel just south of Wick) for a few days.

The plans are still in planning stage , will post more when I get them.
ATIS is only used in some European Waterways, so there is no need for this in UK unless you are going to these countries.
The River Forth to Stirling is Tidal anyways...

you might not need the 3 hrs head start! we might be going to aberdour on the Friday since my boats kept at Elie - so a fly down the forth on Friday to Aberdour might be an option...

Is it just me or does everyone struggle with the Edgar slip due to the shallow angle. I have to use about 30 ft of line on the trailer as my car would drown. Not one for a single handed launch

Has a definate date been set yet? also where is the best place to launch. Bearing in mind that both my wife and I are disabled (my wife more so than me) We will also need to find a place to park the motorhome up for the day. Anyone got any ideas?

it will be the 2/3 June, Stirling council are looking to get pontoons at Stirling harbour permanently...I will chase up my contacts to see what stage ... of course we could plan it anyway! Kev has been up there already and I can get FYCA backing ... they are watching this thread!

Port Edgar should be ok I think for parking up your motorhome, once boat is launched your wife could get in the boat from one of the pontoons just a bit over from the slip. I would be happy to help you with launching your boat etc.
