Hi Rupert
Andy took the boat down on Tuesday. The only good day this week and 1 day before the storms.
I gather he damaged himself jumping off the boat (nearly) onto the dock-but missed. He spent most of the day Thursday in casualty!

Sunday Morning update

I wont give the time of this posting as I am confused enough already today!

Anyway, the lads went over to Sark last night and moored up in Gosselin Bay
They climbed the hill up to the main village and checked into The Stocks Hotel for the night.

They are leaving for Herm this morning as Sark seems unaccountably to have run out of alchohol !!

They will lunch in Herm and then (presumably because of the same problem of lack of sufficient liquid stocks) they will move on to Alderney to spend Sunday night in Braye harbour.

Doubtless discussions will continue there, late into the evening, as to the best plan for Monday. The French nation, having braced themselves for a shock this weekend, seem to have had a narrow escape.

Sunday evening update

By now the lads had emptied all 3 islands of booze and the nautical equivalent of the Hell's Angels have now swept back into Guernsey to drink that one dry too.

Photo evidence below shows (L to R) Scorpio, Cyanide and Jelignite tied up in St. Peter Port.

Charles has now to return to Jersey where tomorrow morning he is opening yet another branch of his retail empire. Philip Green is said to be rushing to the island from his Monaco HQ, cheque book in hand.

Thanks for the updates Brian. Nice to hear they are all well and will (hopefully) have a pleasant run back. Wouldn't like to have their hangovers though!!

Would love to take Blue Ice to St Malo sometime. Maybe next summer? Would like to do a bit of a cruise: Channel Islands and Northern Brittany, taking a week or so to do it in a leisurely fashion. I think Daniel was planning something similar.

local update

Met the guys about 4.30 today and lent one of them my mooring so they had an easy way of getting to the other boats out in the pool in the morning then found them a hotel and somewhere to drink as that seemed to be top of the agenda after finding a place to stay.

Pity I couldnt stay to help them drink the establishment dry but I already had a famly dinner I had to attend. Any way good to meet them all some for the first time some not.

Monday midday

Just got a call from the lads, now in Alderney (are there any other islands left with a pub on them?).
They had finished refueling at Mainbrace and were having a chat with the esteemed Roland before setting off back to the UK.

Hugo's Revenger has had some small problems: mainfuel tank leaking petrol onto the deck and tube beginning to split away from the hull. But they are in the company of Mark/Jon and their Scorpion "Jelignite". They will have about 60/70 miles to run.
Andy, on the other hand, is single-handed in Cyanide, and unaccompanied. He has 112nmiles to run, as the crow flies. We are watching his progress carefully in a fresh Force 4 N.Easterly. He should get to Falmouth around 1800 hours tonight, just in time to make sure all the nav. lights are working properly.

Andy Cox in Cyanide has had the Bravo 1X leg on the boat fail a few hours into the trip back. After declaring a Pan-Pan he is now being towed back into Braye harbour by the lifeboat eta 1800hours.

Hi Brian

Does this sound like the same thing as last time or will you not know until it's pulled from the boat ?

See I've been reading up on all the trips.
