I will have spaces on my boat - so you are welcome to join the "Voyager" crew for this trip. So far I have Myself, Luke and Amy and 2 maybes that havnt confirmed yet.

If Makayla and Yourself want my other 2 spaces that will make a nice round 7 people which is just right for my boat.

Let me know if you want the spaces for definite and ill stop looking for more crew.

Just checked the tides and charts for Cowes and Newport for the weekend of RIBEX and it looks like we might just be able to squeeze in to Newport to moor up near the hotel but it will mean either an early or late finish every day.

Randski - as the only other confirmed participant so far what do you think?

There will be no access to Newport visitor pontoons between these times.

12/05/06 15:00-20:30
13/05/06 03:30-09:00
13/05/06 15:30-21:00
14/05/06 04:00-09:30
14/05/06 16:30-21:30
15/05/06 04:30-10:30

Sunset is around 20:40 that time of year.

Alternative is we just use East Cowes and grab a taxi - its less than 4 miles with no tidal restrictions.

Hi Roy
Thank you for your kind offer but my sister is getting married in Bedford on the 12th, so I have a cunning plan to drop into RIBEX on the 13th/14th so see you there

I have done the trip from Cowes to Newport many times in the dark,so long as one person in the bows has a searchlight and even this is not strictly necessary,it is easy and well lit, just line up the leading lights shown on the chart and once into Newport wharf it's so well lit from the Pub and all the surrounding buildings you really should have no problem by water.

6 weeks to go

I am going to start thinking about booking the car and trailer storage for this trip.

So far only myself and randski are confirmed.

Does anybody else need trailer and car parking for this trip Lymington is probaly still first choice at the moment.

Rogue Wave would be a great bet for launch and storage,it's secure and they are thoroughly nice people.

OK - sounds good.

Rogue Wave - can you fill us in on what we need to do to book a launch and our trailers/cars in for the long weekend.

Currently there is only myself and Randski coming so that's 2 X boats, 2 X cars and 2 X trailers.

Info like launch times and methods - do you have a slip or is it crane only etc...

We will be there sometime Friday afternoon on the 12th and will want to retrieve our boats sometime Monday afternoon on the 15th.

Its low tide at 5pm (1.1m) does that present a problem if so we will need to ensure we get their earlier etc..

Also a rough guide to prices would be useful.

Many thanks
