If you plan your tides right, you can take the ribs all the way down to newport and moor up o'night on the visitors pontoon, then walk to the premier travel inn,150yards +/-2hrs either side of low tide.10 o'night charge for the rib, just let newport harbourmaster know you are coming.

Would like to be involved too. Am based in Lymington. Try Berthon (ask for the dockmaster, don't talk to officialdom) and tell him you want to lay up car and trailer for a few days. Very helpful, IMHO. Please can whoever is organising please PM me? Thanks

I've had a few requests to store peoples cars and trailers indoors at our unit in Drivers and have agreed to do so. If anybody else is interested I'll ask Gill if we can store more cars and trailers fo the weekend.

I envisage it would be trailers indoors and cars outside and optional launch/recovery between Friday and Monday as required. Also if anybody needs any maintenance on trailes while they are in the water that could be arranged and also 2 stroke and red diesel is available

hi bruce - would love to have you involved - local knowledge is always a usefull thing...

I - for my sins have volunteered to organise this trip.

so far we have one boat going by sea and 2 boats coming by road.

I am working away at the moment but will investigate the berthon option next week - but last time I spoke to them they were not interested (spoke to the wrong person I guess)

sorry Yes Drivers Wharf is in Southampton on the Itchen
and yes the costs will be reasonable, we sublet a unit and some outside space from the owners of Drivers Dry Berting. I just need to have a chat with them re car parking and a Ribex special crane rate, will do so tomorrow. Re the indoor trailer storage I'd be happy to do this for a donation to GAFIRS or Hamble Rescue

this is where we are

Just thought id check in to see where we were up to on this trip.

Randski - I assume you are still coming up with me by road on the Friday (what time was you planning to leave Cornwall).

Mollers / Shaggy - are you still doing this trip by sea - have you booked accommodation on IOW yet

Any other South West Ribsters want to join in.

Anybody else fancy coming along - you don't have to be from the south west as when we get to Lymington for launch it will not matter where you've driven from.
