I'd be up for this too. If it is Plymouth I could always stay over with my son who is at Uni there ( as long as that would not cramp his style).

Plymouth would be a good base as the facilities are good and the surrounding options East and West are good.

If you are going into Salcombe you have to buy a licence as well as pay for your mooring fees. I think after September you can buy a day licence for about £6 however in the summer you can only buy a 1 year licence £80

You should be OK now seeing that its October.

We have anchored overnight a few times in Salcombe this year, have paid anchoring fee to harbour master but never been asked about licence.

( we have also anchored there and not been asked to pay )

Here is the link to the harbour dues http://www.southhams.gov.uk/index/en...or-charges.htm

Wait for the tide to come in and launch at Kingsbridge! Having said that the charge is harbour dues not for launching as far as I can see, so they will still charge you if they see you! If you want me to check I am going in to the office later - I'll ask.

In order to encourage guys and girls travelling from further a field, i am looking at sorting out secure boat storage and basic accommodation at my house if required (should get 50 in there). More details to follow.

Any Ribnetters with a good tan, dark bushy 'tash and a rucksack might struggle to get in.
