Solent Sunday 30th March 2014

The weather looks so good for Sunday - even Mrs G is thinking of coming out to play on Blue Ray!
We're thinking of Yarmouth for lunch, or maybe the New Inn at Newtown Creek as it's high tide over lunchtime.

Any of the usual suspects out and about on Sunday and want to meet up?
(We'll be aiming to leave Southampton Dry Stack between 10.30 and 11am.)

Andre's lending us the Parker demonstrator for the day, so we'll be out and about.

Leaving SDS about 11.30ish and lunch booked at the Wheatsheaf

Off to see my Mother In Law on Sunday, so prop testing will have to wait until the following weekend.

Tide times are not the greatest, but weather looks too good to miss. I'll need to be back in Lym by 14.30, but lunch sounds good.
If I had to cast a vote it would be for Yarmouth, not that I would simply go straight across

OK. Sounds like Yarmouth it is!
We should be there between 12 and 12.30 and will head for the Wheatsheaf for Nachos (again).

It's going to be nice tomorrow, the clocks go forward tonight so we will be getting another hour of light in the evenings

Have a great day tomorrow

Might go out for a shake down cruise tomorrow. Fairly pissed now though, so might might not be able to get up...

I had looked at going over to Yarmouth today, but was pretty breezy in Poole Bay with a quite a sea running, so stayed local instead as I had some complete novices onboard who weren't super confident.

Might well try to do Yarmouth tomorrow for lunch if that gets me out of antifouling the sailing boat!

And a very fine day out it was too. The Parker did us proud, thanks Andre

I haven't eaten at the Wheatsheaf for years, but it was as good as ever and the servings are colossal! Caught up briefly with Trevor and Ian M who were catching a bit of sun in the pub garden

Very envious

Have been down in Devon this weekend for a family wedding and the weather was lovely, shame to be so near to the sea with no boat.

Glad you all had a great time very envious.

However we are still drying out from the ribnet cruise in Conwy Last weekend

How many boats did you end up with? We were lucky last weekend with 13 boats.

Summers coming

Just the three - I'm guessing most had Mother's Day commitments!

Did you leave your boat ( save ? ) at the visitors mooring on Town Quai ?

Did they charge anything ?

We're in the Solent on monday and thusday and maybe have a bite there.

We were on the pontoons between the slipway and the lifeboat, very convenient walk ashore access. The cost for a short stay was £6 for a 7.5m boat.

The harbourmaster will normally meet you as you come into the harbour and let you know where to moor. They always charge, but the staff are helpful, the facilities are good and the prices are fair!

Don't forget to get your loyalty card stamped on each short stay visit. Either the 5th or 6th visit is free in Yarmouth.

It's the 5th stay that's free, if you've been getting your card stamped.

I still have a few stamps to go!

Yes i'm collecting the stamps. It is a race between completing the card and it disintegrating through getting damp
