Solent - Guernsey. End of Sep/Early Oct?

I am new to this forum, but have had a RIB for 6 years and an inflatable before that for 20 years !

I have been looking at doing the channel islands for sometime, but wished to go in a group for safety, and would therefore like to tag along (subject to clearance from management - the wife etc). I launch from Christchurch so would probably meet up at The Needles, if all goes ahead ?

Sounds like a great adventure, unfortunately I cant come that weekend but would be interested next year, perhaps a Ribnet cruise in the summer.

250 knots - I cannot make the 15/16/17 October as I will be ribbing in Greece

As a date has not yet been set any other weekend in October is fine for me.

Small boats?

Been hoping to do this trip for a while. Weather permitting I'd do it in my own rib but shes a little under powered compared to the rest of the fleet.

What sort of cruising speed would you be looking at? and are there any other smaller ribs considering it?

Sound manageable .
Should be up for it so long as the weather forecast isn’t too heavy.

Due to domestic issues, I am no longer able to make this trip. Huge appologises to those who expressed an interest in the spare seats.
Wishing all those that undertake the trip, a safe and enjoyable journey, take lots of pictures please just to rub it in!

Steve

Tim
Are we looking at 23/24 as the possible date ? I can't do 16/17 or 30/31 .

Tim M ended up working most of the weekend I believe, he did manage to find a half of lager shandy at one point though I am sure.

The weather on this side of the Channel has been variable over the weekend and temperatures have occasionally touched on "bracing", though it is gloriously flat calm right now.
