Hope to be up there for the Sat night, a friend is DJing in S'ton so a blast on the water on Sunday might be in order to clear the head...
Will put it to the crew and see who's keen

Was it on this trip last year that it was rough as hell and rained stair rods?

If Grays up for it, then we should be able to make this... might be "brave" (stupid?) and do it in the zapcat...

Failing that, will get Intrepid out and stretch its legs.

Neil,

I'm trying to get my shifts sorted so I can have a long day out that day. Fancy doing some cruising if the weather permits ?

Nick.

Sounds good to me, but have to fly to Ireland on the Monday, so won't want too long a day, and depends on what we will be doing anyway. It seems no definite plans yet.

I'm glad there are so many people interested

The plan will be something similar to the following:

Portsmouth people: gather by the lightship from 1015 ready to leave by 1030.
Head to Calshot to meet those coming from other areas of the Solent at 1100.
If the weather is nice: Head to Cowes, for flasks of coffee/something stronger on the quay in the glorious sunshine. Proceed to Yarmouth, arriving aprox 1200.
If the weather isn't nice: Proceed slowly to Yarmouth.

Have lunch at the Kings Head (this may take a while!). Leave Yarmouth at aprox 1430, head for the needles for blasting around and lots of photos!
Head for Portsmouth at aprox 1530, returning by about 1630.

Of course, the above is open to suggestion/amendment! As usual, this will be a casual, fun cruise, not a race, so should be suitable for all sizes of boat as long as the weather is OK.

Tim, by Calshot I assume you mean the buoy a bit further on from Castle Point. (sorry I'm not local to the area so am looking at the Garmin to see where you mean).

Nick,

Tims' plan looks like cruising to me, if this is order of the day, that'll be enough for me, and I'll possibly be out alone

If anyone needs a seat, feel free to PM

cheers

Neil

Are you going to book tables at Yarmouth ? I remember we waited a fair old time last time we went there. As I always seem to break down on these trips will you be able to tow us home!We have seat available too .

Neil,

Looks good to me. I'll speak to the crew. I'll be at Calshot for 1000 hrs so might cruise down to Portsmouth for a quick warmup and refreshements then follow the crowd back from Pompey.

Hope I don't get caught for 7 quid at the lightship again !

Nick.

Well I was going, then I wasn't, then I was, then they changed my shift and I'm definatly not going unless I can shift change with someone.

Have a nice day out without me!
